Built in 1936, Chateau D'Or has been used for numerous music videos, parties, and other events. The 25,953 square foot mega-mansion was once listed at nearly $30 million, but now the price has been lowered once again, this time to only $19,995,000. Keep in mind that this house is located on almost 2 acres of some of the most exclusive land in the United States.

Some other amenities in the home include a 600 ft long palm lined driveway, a guest house, gym, spa, offices, and an enormous dining room that can accommodate up to 100 people. The house has European accents throughout and was based on Versailles and the White House. Click here for more information about the mansion, also look below for a video.

My 100th Post - A Countdown of The 10 Most Expensive Homes in The World

For my 100th post on this blog I decided to do something different. So today I'm writing this article about the 10 most expensive homes in the world. These results may change over time so if you see any errors feel free to tell me! Otherwise, here it is!

So below is a countdown of the 10 most expensive private homes on the planet;

10. Rybolovlev Estate - $95 Million

Known for previously being one of Donald Trump's many mansions, this huge 33,000 square foot Florida estate was once the most expensive single family home in America. The house has 18 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms, and it's valued at $95,000,000.

9. Silicon Valley Mansion - $100 Million

This large 30,000 square foot limestone mansion was recently purchased by billionaire Yuri Milner, who has invested in companies like Facebook, Groupon, and Zynga. It's estimated to be worth around $100,000,000. Here is my article on the Silicon Valley Estate.

8. Fleur De Lys - $125 Million

This famous estate is located in the middle of Bel Air, California, and is known for being one of the most expensive homes in the US (even though it's only #8 on our list). The 35,046 square foot California mansion has 12 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. Click here for my article on Fleur De Lys.

7. The Manor - $150 Million

The Manor is a well-known mansion in Holmby Hills, California. It's actually not far from Fleur De Lys, number 8 on the list, which resides in the neighboring community of Bel Air. Estimated to be worth around $150 Million, the 57,000 square foot mansion was purchased in 2011 by Petra Ecclestone for only $85,000,000. It was originally built by Aaron Spelling, and was famously known as the Spelling mansion for almost 30 years. I also have an article on this home, which tells about the purchasing of The Manor by Petra Ecclestone. Find it Here.

6. The Pinnacle - $155 Million

This unique log cabin-style mansion is located in Montana and it's owned by Tim Blixseth. It's not as well known as some of the previous mansions on the list, but it has some pretty interesting amenities, one of these being a chair lift directly to a nearby ski-resort (which Blixseth owns). The house is 53,000 square feet and is worth $155,000,000.

5. Franchuk Villa - $161 Million

Located in London, this five-story home has an underground indoor pool, panic room, sauna, gym, movie theater and even a news room. The mansion is 21,000 square feet and it was purchased by businesswoman Elena Franchuk (hence the name, Franchuk Villa). It's worth $161 million.

4. The Hearst Mansion - $165 Million

Often confused with Hearst Castle, this $165 million California mansion has 29 bedrooms, three swimming pools, two tennis courts, a theater, nightclub, and countless other amenities. The house feels like a resort and was featured in the movie "The Godfather".

3. Ira Rennert's Fairfield Estate - $198 Million

This Hamptons estate is simply enormous, taking up 63 acres of oceanfront land. Valued at $198,000,000 and over 66,000 square feet, Ira Rennert's super mansion is the most expensive home in the United States. I just recently wrote an article on this mansion which you can find here.

2. Villa Leopolda - $736 Million

Valued at an incredible $736 million, there a pretty big jump in price from the last house. The French mansion was built in 1902 by King Leopold II of Belgium. It was the purchased by billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov in 2008. According to the source, it has 27 stories (maybe they got confused with the next house on the list), 19 bedrooms, and 50 full-time gardeners.

1. Antilla - $2 Billion

Finally we come to the most expensive house ever built; Antilla.

This 27 story skyscraper was built entirely for Mukesh Ambani, one of Asia's richest men, and his family. Standing 568 feet tall, the first six floors are garages, and the Ambani family only live in 4 of the upper floors of the house. Some of the other floors are used for a 50-seat cinema, garden, health club, swimming pool, athletic facilities, and even a floor reserved for emergencies, in case somebody in the mansion would need to be rescued. The top three floors will be used for helicopter maintenance and a control room for the helipads.

Antilla will cost/costed nearly $2,000,000,000, making it the world's first billion dollar home.

The Castle in Bell Acres, Pennsylvania

Built upon a small hill in a quiet, upscale neighborhood lies this 32,400 square foot castle. It's owned by entrepreneur and real estate developer Joseph Nocito and it was built in 2001/2002. Inside there are 18 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms, 13 fireplaces, and a 15 car garage, all on 14 1/2 acres of land. Marble was imported from all over the world for the mansion's interior.

The first floor of the 3-level mansion features both formal and informal dining rooms, a great room, family room and sun room. In the basement you'll find a home office, computer room, family room, game room, wine cellar and more.

Located on Beech Ridge Rd, the surrounding houses are also million dollar estates, but are dwarfed by this baronial-style castle. There is not a lot of information on the house itself, but there are many articles out there that tell about the construction of the home and other miscellaneous things. Unfortunately I can't find any additional facts or information on this house, but the address is 129 Beech Ridge Rd, Sewickley, PA. Click the link below for another (longer) article on the mansion. Also look below for a video.

A Look at Ira Rennert's Mansion, The Largest House in The United States

A house over 8,000 square feet is considered a mansion, but what about a house over 100,000 square feet? Ira Rennert's estate is said to be anywhere from 43,000 to over 100,000 square feet, making it the largest house in the US. Zillow.com estimates the enormous compound to be worth around and incredible $202,864,000. The number of bedrooms vary from 21 to 29 and there are anywhere from 18 to 49 bathrooms in the house, depending on the source. The mansion is an enormous compound with and indoor theater, two bowling alleys, multiple tennis courts, two squash courts, numerous game rooms, a basketball court, and obviously much more.

Built on 63 acres of waterfront land in Sagaponack, New York, construction began in 1998 and it was finished by 2003. The house was so outrageously sized that many neighbors and nearby residents thought it would be a hotel or large business retreat resulting in a small uproar within the community, not knowing it would be used as a single-family home. The estate's address is 281 Daniels Ln, Sagaponack, New York. Click the link below for another article on the home.
